A test installation of Core has gone "funny"

I was looking at Core and set up a site online. It worked; cool.

I went there today and the CSS was not working - then I noticed that all of the URL’s had “S=nnnnnnnnn…” statements in them, like;

http://www.domain_name.com/index.php/S=981ed146d99984397e438142b9cc1f9c7568e38a/

..this extended to the line in the page source that called the site_css file (ah, ha).

So I set up a new blog and made the template_group/index template the site template and checked that www.domain_name.com/index.php was the site homepage. The resulting home-page is full of goobledygook!

Here’s a piccy of what I got. Running down the page you’ll see that the rubbish lines start M00.., M10.., M20.., M30.., M40.. & M50.. - so this behaviour is certainly not random. The question is, why?

Any thoughts/Jules

...thanks to whoever moved this to the EECore Forum (from Bugs?) - I solved the problem by removing the application. Thanks.

Speaking as a regular (non Core) user: S=nnnnn looks like authentication done via session id. What happens when you change to authentication via cookies only?

Everything will be good in the end. If it’s not good, it’s not the end.

I have EECore setup on three “baby” sites, and I’ve not seen this happen before.

But I’m not using that template.

But it does look like some session ids got put it.

Caveat: I always set EE to cookies only.

Sue,

Happened on multiple templates - I just cjose this one to illustrate the point.

Why only cookies; doe EE’s implementation of sessions not work fully in all cases?

I use cookies only since I don’t want to deal with sessions expiring if I have to walk away from the computer in the middle of doing something.

Happy New Year to you Sue - do you ever sleep?

So we’re only talking CP here, rather than Users?

I have funny sleep patterns - as I get older I sleep less, and get up earlier. So I go to bed earlier. smile Viscious cycle.

Yes, CP stuff. The default settings for EE don’t set sessions for the front end.

Happy New Year to you as well. I mostly slept through my neighbor’s fireworks. smile
