Hi all,

I put together my first extension today and I must say it was quite easy to do, even for someone with very limited php knowledge like me.
This is just a test-case to get some feedback on Extension development, feel free to point out the mistakes I undoubtedly made. wink

The extension does the following to the the Template Management section:
- add images to the templates to indicate the different template types
- order the templates by type/alphabetically
- show description of the template type

You can change all these settings in the Extension Manager and use your own images if you want.

Cheers!

Just a gentle reminder - your zip file has mac specific stuff in it, and the filename contains a space.

As a PC user, I have to go kill off a __MACOSX directory, and a .DS_Store file.

I’ve ftp’d up items in directories and have had problems seeing the .DS_Store files unless my ftp program shows hidden files.

Thanks for the reminder Sue.

I updated the download and as far as I can see it should be Ok now ...
I am not 100% sure the resource thing (the __MACOSX directory) is gone, could you check that for me please? smile

Inital feedback

It works well, the only thing that looked “funny” was the individual rows.

See the attached screen shot.

Right, I forgot about that IE float bug.

Well, it should look something like the screenshot below in other browsers wink

I should test before blaming IE, just discovered that Firefox on the Mac shows the same.

Sorry about that wink
Now let’s see how we can fix it…

Yup. Much better. Works in FireFox and IE for Windows both.

Just wanted to say that this plugin is awesome! Really it’s something that should be in EE by default raspberry.

Thanks Cocoaholic!

I noticed that your extension doesn’t work with EE 1.5. It doesn’t show the new Template Manager link, the authentication icon on templates or the default weblog group. I went ahead and updated the extension since I use it all the time with clients. I hope you don’t mind.

I’ve attached a ZIP file with the updated extension and all necessary files. I hope I didn’t miss anything.
