Lots of new stuff in 1.4…definitely read the change log.
Several things were high on my list.
Using the beta, 2-3 changes broke the local version of my site. A couple were my own faulty coding and EE being a little less tolerant. And a couple quickly corrected bugs.
Not many bugs on the bug list.
Great job guys!!!!!
W00t! It’s out. Hope everyone is as psyched as I was by the additions.
And manofsteel, I too am glad to see the free core version. I know I just wouldn’t have been into software for my personal site if it had cost $100 back in the day. The $35 was a stretch for me when it came to PM, given the free blogging/CMS tools available. However, at the time, I decided it was worth it. I think folks who use the core will be quick to see why EE is worth it at $100 bucks- and they’ll be more willing to try it out if there’s a free version available.
I’m off to spread the word to my cheap friends- which is pretty much all of my friends!
*Wow*, HUGE ups on the new release guys, so much awesomeness its hard to take it all in at once! :D Related entries looks mind bendingly cool, and hooray for extensions (and the old publish page! yay thanks for listening guys, good bye to my hacked version!) Versioning looks great too, how many inexpensive CMS’s have that? Plenty of other neat stuff like entry hit counters, dynamic parameters, search log, etc etc, and improved docs to boot (force-refresh to get the updated stylesheet kids)! wow, have a great break guys, I’m sure you’re looking forward to it! :D
Nobody is posting to my thread! *cry* Looks like PXLated won the popularity contest. Thats ok, I could still beat you in a bikini contest, bring it on!

And I did not contribute one bug report (specifically for 1.4) to that list. I am not worthy of of my “manofsteel” avatar name. Is this because the developers did a super good job this time, or is it because the beta testers were too busy to hunt for bugs?

Word! Free = more users = more developers = higher profile = more money for developers = more features = world domination = PMachine becomes the next evil empire
Is this because the developers did a super good job this time
That and the fact Rob and LJ got at it and did a good first few rounds on it…great job you two. Based on past betas, I was astounded at how few bugs were reported and on that list.
I’m a chick- so you still qualify as 100% hetero. Assuming you want to be, of course
Are you referring to Rob1 as a grown “man”?
Haha… I feel like an @$$ now. I think in fact I should change my avatar name… to assofsteel maybe. Er wait… I think that name is trademarked for some sort of exercise equipment or videos or something.

Yeah… those guys didn’t leave the next round of beta testers any easy to find bugs. Next time they need to throw in some low hanging fruit for the special kids.

I’d like to also compliment Robin and Lisa. They were quite brutal in their punishment, leading to a mass extermination of bugs.
