I guess this is the correct forum for this question…

Re: Volume discounts…do commercial vs non-commercial licenses get tracked separately?

Meaning…I have 2 licenses currently. One non-commercial, and one commercial. I will most likely be purchasing another non-commercial license within the next few months. That would give me a total of 3 licenses overall, just not the same caliber.

After that 3rd purchase, would I be eligible for the discount on future purchases? Or are commercial and non-commercial licenses tracked separately, making me have to purchase another non-commercial license in order to be eligible (giving me 4 total [mixed] licenses)?

Also regarding commercial licenses (emphasis mine):

A Commercial License is also required for individuals or agencies being compensated for professional services related to the installation or use ofExpressionEngine. i.e. web developers acting on behalf of clients, etc.

Does this mean that if I purchase a license for a client, it has to be a commercial license since I am acting on their behalf, even though their site (without my intervention) would only require a non-commercial license?

Hi wench,

the non-commercial and commercial licenses are not tracked separately. Both count toward the volume discount pricing. So if you have four total mixed licenses you still receive the discount. I’ve responded to other question by email.
