Do you know how incredibly difficult it is to make code optimization witty and interesting to the lay reader? I might as well just have written geeky jokes in PHP code for you all to ponder over. That at the very least would give me something to condescendingly chuckle about over in the corner near the Ms. Pac-Man machine. There goes my evening. ::sigh::
If the potential audience for your application might include developers running sites that receive a couple million page hits a month, you might consider buckling down and optimizing your code. Just a suggestion.
