Hi,

by Christmas I would like to have a gallery on my site which showcases people’s music collections. I have already collected some photos but need more for the initial launch of the gallery.

It does not matter if your CDs/LPs/whatnot are strewn across the floor, if your cats love to sleep on your Blue Note first pressings, if your collection is spread across three hideous shelf systems, if you invested $6000 to showcase a $500 collection, if you simply piled up the CDs in a corner or if your collection consists of a mere 10 to 50 CDs.

In fact, I’m looking for anything you can take a photo of and is music collection related.

If you could help me out, it would be grand.

The photo can be of any size (try to keep the file size below one MB, but that’s NOT a requirement.
I need some sort of name with the submission (real or screen) and a byline (which I can also write myself).

Want to send a pic? Questions?—>

Thanks!

Nope.
I myself have about a terrabyte of music (no kidding) and it just doesn’t look very impressive ... just 4 external USB discs.
Boooooooring. wink

35 grams? That’s really not very much. ,)

I actually lost a lot of it when my RAID system went kabloom (Maxtor shite, no less ... imagine steadily pulsating light: stay away from Maxtor ... stay away from Maxtor ... stay away from MaxtZZzzzzz)

I’ve made it a habit to rip all new CDs to *.mpc (Musepack).
I have many thousand CDs.

... when my RAID system went kabloom…

RAID 0, I suppose? Otherwise, one helluva badluck. (Glad this is the Lounge, or we’d be getting off topic here wink )

Everything will be good in the end. If it’s not good, it’s not the end.

Yes, 0.
With Maxtor disks.
God, they suck (I’ve had 2x2 disks blow in a short period of time (that’s 4 x 250GB). On guarantee, no problem, but lots of hassle. The buzz surrounding Maxtor is just baaaaaaad (this goes for the past 12 months, or so). Declining quality to the max.

Back to music collections. wink
