After using EE to do a ton of client sites, I’ve finally gotten around to powering my own site with EE.

www.31three.com

I’ve got a simple EE tutorial up there now, but hope to add a few more as time goes on.

That looks fantastic, Jesse. I loved your site before and this seems a similar overall feel but still very different. Maybe its the colour choices. I think you’ve nailed the pallette.

Yes, very nice. Clean layout, very nice colors and typography.

I like it too, but I find it very hard to read the light grey text in the lower right box, the testimonial, I think it is.

Hey, you’re hot. That’s twice I’ve seen your site in a brief bit of procrastinating, er, research. Saw it on Cameron Moll’s article in A List Apart (incidentally, the great designer could do with some copywriting advice in the issue’s other article…). Oh and almost forgot: Fab-looking site.

UPDATE: Slowing down, I see two mistakes in your own copy already: You start with “I” then move on to “we”. And in this context it’s “peek” not “peak”.

Pedantic perhaps but it’s a shame to let easily-fixable textual problems mar pixel-perfect design.

Thanks for the kind words everyone… and thanks for catching the errors…

I was no where near done this site a couple weeks ago when Cameron told me that he wanted to use it as a case study for the ALA article. It’s been tight trying to get everything ready in time. Thanks Adam for the sharp eyes… I appreciate it. I’ll be making those corrections in a few minutes.

Nice to see yet another site move to a 1024 X 768 layout, maybe it’s time to put 800 X 600 to rest.
Nice work, really tight smile

Thanks e-man… The site might look wider, but it’s only 740px.

Color me impressed. I like the site design very much. Your use of color is both vibrant and understated. Amazing! It actually makes me want to read, and I say that, when I know that typically body font color as light as yours, allow me to think “pretty” but don’t encourage me to read that much. But even more than making me want to read the text, it makes me realy, really, really want to click the various links. Especially on the Home and Play tabs. I ended up clicking links and opening new tabs left and right.

You switched to grey links in the middle bar of your various portfolios, which was oddly not as encouraging. I ended up only clicking if the company name sounded interesting at that point. Maybe that’s just me, but also possibly an unintended side affect.

Overall, I just love the design its very cool but the greens and greys make it warm and inviting as well.
