I’m going to change my mobile phone, but I can’t depend on reviews from mobile related sites. most of those reviews are exactly the same but with different names!!

So let me call for help here, which brand do you prefer? I ask this because I’m going to first choose the brand then the cell it self
Currently I have a Samsung SGH-A800.

I love my Treo.  I had a terrible LG phone before that which barely worked.  The Treo was an unnecessary purchase.  I didn’t really need something that powerful but I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit.  And its nice being able to get rid of my PDA while still having all of the functionality.

Its a big advantage to have both in one device but: If you go out the smartphones are too big to carry. That was the point why i changed back to a mobile and a PDA.

Just changed my Sony Ericsson P800 to a Nokia 6680. Untill now I like the Nokia a bit more, good synchronization with my mac and P800 was just a tad too big. I like smart phones though so that is what I will continue to go for even if you can get smaller cuter phones.

Sony Ericsson all the way. They are built like trucks. I agree with separating pda and phone. I have an O2 XDAII (excellent machine) and still use my SE Z600 as my phone.

I was actually worried about it seeming too big.  But at least with my Treo the size is just about right.  I could do with it being a tiny bit thinner I suppose but not if the battery life isn’t as good.

keithz, I’m afraid your device is too cool for me. I can’t afford $700 for my cell phone now (did you get yours in the metal box with all accessories?)

methnen, I don’t use PDAs because I really don’t need them, my notebook is light enough to carry it with myself almost everywhere. Dell 700m (Hi Lisa!) and now I have ordered a dell X1 which weights only 1.1 kg)

Tim, I’m a bit Attracted to “sony ericsson” too but have not made my choice yet.

Could’ve expected more, design-wise, from an Apple endorsed product, don’t you think?

I don’t; Apple endorsed != Apple made or designed.  Anyway, it has a hard limit of 100 songs; though I expect someone will hack that.  What a rip. wink

I had a terrible LG phone before that which barely worked.

The C1300, right?

When my wife and I were trying to figure out how to get out from under a collapsing AT&T Wireless network (recently acquired by Cingular, so the separate AT&T Wireless network is simply going away I guess), we looked into the various cellphones Cingular had available (only way to get out of AT&T without paying an early termination fee).

One that seemed attractive was LG’s C1300, but Chris did some research and found there were a lot of complaints about it. And the guy at the Cingular franchise where we got switched over—and a better deal than at a Cingular corporate-owned store—also had a very low opinion of the C1300.

We ended up getting LG’s L1400 instead. We didn’t want a camera phone, but we can live with it. And at least now we can actually make cellphone calls again.

I was on ATT as well.  I’m not sure what the phone was I sold it someone for 20 bucks as soon as I got my Treo or else I would check.  It was a horrible phone though.  It crashed doing absolutely nothing.  I would pull it out of my pocket to make a call and realize that for the entire day I wasn’t receiving calls because my phone had locked up.  I could understand if the phone actually did something besides make calls but it didn’t even have games on it.  All it had to do was make and receive calls and couldn’t even do that half the time.  smile

I actually stayed with my ATT plan it works fine on the Cingular network even with an ATT sim card.  The ATT data plane is much more intelligent than the Cingular one.  Hopefully something better will be available when my contract runs out.

The ATT data plan has an unlimited version fro $19 I use my phone more for email and stuff than I do for talking so that was important.  To get an unlimited data plan from Cingular I would have to pay $79 a month which is ridiculous.

It was actually a Cingular rep that suggested staying with the ATT plan for that reason.

I hate the LG brand (the former Goldstar) they build every thing and are experts in nothing!
They build refrigerators, air conditioners, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, can openers, computers, monitors, cell phones and a lot more low quality products.
Spending money on LG is truly wasting money.

Hmmmm. My wife had her phone do just that last night. She reset it by pulling the battery, which seems excessive. I haven’t had a problem myself. We do have games on our phones, and we play them a lot. red face

Go with the K750i for sure. I’ve had mine for about a month and it’s a dream. Solid design and I’ve got it hooked up so that I can post images, text, sounds and video direct to my sitecool smile

Just bought a Nokia 6630 and I am wondering why I did without such a gorgeous little device for so long. I guess perhaps because this level of functionality was just not available until relatively recently in such a small and relatively inexpensive package. With wireless bluetooth qwerty keyboards and the Symbian operating system, I’m blown away. And this isn’t even the newest model.
