been playing with changing the appearance of submit buttons in Safari using CSS.
Unfortunately, submit buttons don’t seem to change their appearance in Sarafi regardless of the CSS styles.

.button { color: fff; background: #567A7A; padding: 3px; border: 2px solid #000 }

This is the CSS code I apply to the button, and here is the button:

<input type="submit" value="submit" class="button" />

Why does it not change appearance? What can I do about this?
Any help appreciated!

On another note, if I can’t style the submit button - how can I create a text link that does the job of a button?

The inability to style buttons with CSS in Safari is definitely one of my biggest gripes with the browser.  It just seems inexcusable that a browser that is otherwise so “modern” and follows the standards so well would just completely shut you out from being able to style buttons.  I truly hope this gets rectified fairly soon in one of their releases.

The wiki article to style Safari buttons works great.  I use it for my comment submit button (example at bottom).
