Different search result templates depending on weblog?

I have 4 different weblogs setup so far, and they all have completely different content. They all have completely different weblog entry fields as well, except for Title of course.

Because I can only choose one search results page, my results only show up for one of those blogs. Because the other 3 weblogs use different weblog entry fields, it just returns a blank page when you click on the title in the results page.

Is there anyway to say, “if the weblog of this result is ‘bands’, use the rock/bands, template. If it’s in the ‘shows’ weblog, use the rock/shows template”???

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You can tell the search form where to look and what template to use with a few variables:
{exp:search:simple_form result_page=“ffp/results” search_in=“everywhere” weblog=“ffp”}

Hope that helps

Yes, but I have 4 different weblogs with 4 different kinds of information, so I need to be able to change all of that depending on which weblog something was posted in. :-\

Are you asking how to change where search results point?

Sort of… I already know how to do that… The problem is that I have 4 weblogs, all with different entry fields. But all of these blogs are actually just one site. They are only thought of as weblogs in EE terminology. Really they are just different sections of a site.

When you search for something, and the results are displayed, I can only choose to display them in “Template X”. But depending on the weblog that that entry is from, it may not have the same entry fields as “Template X”, so nothing is displayed on the page because the entry fields don’t match up. This is after you click on the title in the search results page. For instance if I specify the “news” template for the search results, but the result someone finds is in the “venues” weblog, the weblog entries aren’t the same for those two weblogs, so nothing shows up when you click on the venues entry because those entry fields aren’t setup to be displayed in the News template.

Make any sense?
