CSS know-howers…your pity or a trade?

Please excuse this cross-post:

Would anyone be willing to do modify the style sheet and index page for a version of template seven in EE?  First and foremost, I’m seeking another column of the same size on the left; a header that runs all the way across the top, and, if possible, a “taller” header.

I can trade proofreading, editing, etc. for someone who could help with this.

Thanks for your consideration.

P.S.  There are a couple of typos in my last post because I was going fast.  Don’t take them as an indication of my editing skills—I’m very meticulous when I “work.”

This is actually (probably) the correct forum for template/style related posts…unfortunately I posted in the other one…I’ll repost here and we can let the other one die.

I’m not offering at the moment but maybe you could fill in a couple of other details…
1) Do you need a fixed-width overall or a more fluid (changing) width. Fixed is easier grin
2) If someone just gave the html with the correct divs for the template and the corresponding CSS for those divs, can you take it from there?

Fixed width is fine.

I too new to even totally understand the implications of your second question but my guess is yes.  Thanks.

P.S.  Do you have an EE site—I’m very interested in exploring all of the sites out there….

A newbie…always welcome grin

Concerning my question #2…The look/feel/layout of an EE driven site is controlled by the html used in the tempates and by the CSS which is also in a template (doesn’t have to be though). So, if in the Control Panel you look in the templates section at the various templates you will see the html/css is intermixed with the EE tags that call the actual content. If you look in the CSS template you will see that it creates the layout and styles the content.
So, if you had just new html, you would have to add in the appropriate EE tags to call the content you wanted. And if you had the CSS, you would paste that into the CSS template and use those tags to style your content.
That’s probably clear as mud at this point but once you dig around in the templates it starts making sense.

I don’t have a live EE site to look at…I’m developing on a local machine…but there are some good examples in the Site Introduction section of these forums.
