I’m loving Expression Engine so far. This program is by far heads and tails over any of the other blog programs I’ve used. Great Work!

Ok, now I have two problems remaining that I havent’ been able to solve. First, if you take a look at my site you will see that although I am using the <center></center> tags to center my banner, the banner stills sits a bit to the right of the screen instead of being perfectly centered. Any ideas on what might be causing that?

Second, if you look closely you will see that I have a thin red border around the left column, the main column and the right column. However, if you take a close look at the top of the right column you will notice that the border extends above the column for a bit rather than surrounding it properly as the others do. What might be the cause of this?

I’d be grateful for any help. Thanks!

schumert...
Banner Centering…You have the banner div way down in the code and it’s actually within the “middle” div…so it’s trying to center within that. If you move it all the way up so it’s just after the “wrapper” div it will more then likely center over the three columns.
Space at top of right column…Here’s what’s in your source…
<div id=“right”>
<div id=“box”>
</div>
<div id=“rightbar”>
There is nothing in the CSS defining that “box” div. Not sure, but would bet that’s at least part of the problem.
—————
I don’t have time to see what’s causing this but your three columns with the red boarders don’t align at their tops…at least in Safari…the left is 1/4” low and the right is about a 1/16” low.
——
Your source shows a lot of opening/closing “center” tags. Since everything in your left and right columns is centered, you could probably streamline your code and dump all the “center” tags and just do it in the CSS for the “leftbar” and “rightbar” divs.

Good Luck grin

Moving the banner Div up did the trick. Thanks.

Now my only problem is the right column. I replaced the properties for the box div in CSS and that seems to scre things up even more. Is there any way that I can make things easier and remove everything assocated with the box while making the right column a mirror image of the left? Could I just copy all the properties associated with the left column and rename them as the right and in esssence have two left columns, one on the left and one on the right? Or would this seriously screw something up?

I don’t think you even need the “box” div. You can leave it in the CSS but remove it from your template once and see what happens.

Not really, they have to have different left settings. Right now they have all the same attributes just different figures. By the way, they don’t have the same top settings and they should. 300px seems to be the right number.

Also, the red border on the middle section is applied to the “blog” div. It should be on the “middle” div. The left, middle and right divs are containers and should have the same type of attributes. the leftbar, blog and rightbar divs are the content and likewise should be similar and have the same attributes.
You’ll need to get that kind of stuff straightened out before you’ll ever get things to align right.

See that you got rid of the whole right column rather then just that one extraneous div called “box”. You don’t want a right column?
