Can someone tell me how I can place a picture as my banner? What code do I use and where do I place it? I’m coming over from mt, but what I used in mt doesn’t work for some reason. Basically, what I want is a logo at the top center of my webpage, where my website name currently is. My site is at www.smootherthanbutter.com

You can do this in several ways, as a background image in #blogtiltle in your css, ie like what I have for mine:

#blogtitle {
margin: 0px;
padding: 5px 10px;
height: 290px;
text-align: left;
background: transparent;
color: #fff;
background-image: url(/images/layout/creative/random.gif);
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}

or you can go into the template and find the div for #blogtitle and just put in a normal image src there to call the background image, ie:

<div id="main">
<
div id="blog">
<
div id="blogtitle">
<
img src="/images/toplogo.gif" alt="logo" height="30" width="100" />
</
div>

you should see the div theres, that’s whre you’d stick the image.

Hope that helps.

Ok, I’m already using the first approach to provide an overall background pattern to my website. So I try the second approach, using the div for #blogtitle and it works. However, I can’t seem to get the wrods in white off my banner. Above the logo it displays the name of the site, how do I get rid of that?

Get rid of the words out of the index template in the blogtitle div. =)

But I don’t have any words in the blogtitle div, that’s what I don’t understand. What I have is: <div class=“blogtitle”><h1>{exp:weblog:weblog_name weblog=“weblog1”}</h1></div>

Nowhere in the index do I have the name Smootherthanbutter.com except for the link to my banner image. And that was just recently placed there by me. The words were there before.

er, the stuff in h1 outputs words, ditch it and it shall go away - that tag outputs the name of your weblog. so make it <div class=“blogtitle”></div>
