We are wanting to move one EE install (two blogs already), and instead of moving it to an entirely seperate installation of EE, we want to *merge* it into an already existing install (with multiple blogs) and make it a sub domain / parked domain, handled by this one EE install. The already existing blogs and their templates will simply be in a single EE instance.

We don’t care about the users already registered, only the blog content and templates (which I could move manually, but the content?)

Anyone know how we would do this? Can a SQL export from the retiring EE install simply be merged into the existing one with no problems, or will it be much more complex?

It’s a bit more complex than that.

For one thing, the entry_ids need to different from one install to the other.

Do these posts also have categories? Not having them would be easier.

It also depends on what fields you are using in each install.

How many entries are you talking about? It might be easier to use something like wBloggar and put them in again.

On the old EE installation, you could create Templates to “export” your entries to the MT Import format.  You could then take that output file and import it into the new EE install using the “Movable Type Import Utility”.  That would take care of the entries, at least.

Thats not a bad idea, I can then handle the templates myself, without any issues ...

I like that, I think i’ll give it a shot, thanks Chris!
