Hi,

I just tried to upload a Favicon2.ico via ftp to the ee/images/avatar/default library/

!. What did/am I doing wrong? It does not show up in my ‘CP Home/my account/personal setting/edit avatar/default library’

2. Should I rename it to"WDB.jpg”? and why?

Best,

Walter

I don’t believe that .ico files are shown in that. You should save it as a proper web image type (jpg, gif, png) and upload it.

FYI, real ICO (”.ico”) files are a completely different image format than the standard GIF or JPG.  Many people will simply rename a regular image to have a “.ico” extension, but that’s not a real ICO file.

If you want to use a true ICO file for an EE avatar you’ll need to convert the image format using an image processing program (Photoshop, etc.) to a valid format such as JPG, GIF, or PNG.

Hi Chris,

Yes, I ran the ico through Adobe PhotoShop first, and saved as jpeg.

Then uploaded it.

It works fine now.

Thank you.

Best.
