I know some kind of full blown event calendar is in the works for EE, but it is likely a ways off in development. I manage a print publication with an events calendar and would like to cross-post this to the website, hopefully in a searchable way and in a way that ties in with a mini-calendar and tabular output. Input might be record-by-record, but it would be handy to be able to do a multi-record dump into the db (delimited file). Output to a print file is also required.
Currently, I use a hacked up version of phpCommunityCalendar; however, development work on that project appears dead since 2002. My staff enters their calendar data record-by-record, and I wrote a php script (not my forte) that spits out a print file with DTP tags. It’s servicable and had the advantage of having a backend easy to deconstruct, but I would like greater flexibility. Ultimately, I would like whatever solution we develop to synch up w/ EE.
I’m wondering if anyone can recommend a robust and flexible calendar product with both web and DTP capability.
