Hi,

First, let me say—I’M SUCH A NEWBEEE!!!  (my first post!!)  smile

Second, I have to give snaps to ee (and Rick) for a excellent tool…  thanks!

Third, and the reason for this post, is that I’m having some trouble getting my first plug in to work.  I’ve installed the Auto Linker plug in by Paul Burdick into my system/plugins folder and can see it in the plug in manager interface.  But when I go to use it in my templates, it doesn’t seem to work.  URL that are fully formed (and were being converted with the built-in URL to link features) are just displaying as text.

I’m running 1.3 on unix (Solaris).

Thoughts?

Can you show exactly how you’re using the Plugin in your Template?  Also, what is the exact content of one of your entry fields where you’re wanting the link converted?

Hi Chris.  This is how I’m calling it:

<p>
{exp:auto_linker}
{body}
{
/exp:auto_linker}
</p>

Looking deeper inside the code, I see that it talks about a different tag:

{exp:encode_url}

text you want processed

{
/exp:encode_url}

but that tag threw an error.

Thanks,

-r

Assuming that the first code you listed is what you have in your Template (and inside a {exp:weblog:entries} tag) and not inside a weblog entry, then that part looks correct.  What is an example of content that you have in your “body” field?

Also, you say “that tag threw an error”.  What was the exact error you received and what exactly were you doing (what code were you using and where) that triggered the error?
