3 Requests Here. 1 is crucial, 2 and 3 are probably not important.

1. The ability to display recent forum threads on weblog pages is great, but it is crucial to be able to specify or exclude which forums to display threads from.  For example, if I’m running a sports site, I’d want to show the last 10 posts in my “football”, “baseball” and “basketball” forums on my website’s main page, but I would NOT want to show any posts from my “admin/help” forum, or my “off topic” forum. 

2.  Ability to display an excerpt from the original post of each listed recent thread, with a definable character length, might be useful, but not critically important.

3.  A recent POSTS tag, as apposed to recent threads, might be useful to some folks.  This would be very much like a recent comments tag for weblogs.  I wouldn’t use it, but some might.

As for 2) I’d like to see full text available as well, as I am mainly using this to serve this stuff to an RSS feed. 

1) would be great, a shortname would be really ideal.  Heck, if the shortname could be made available to {exp:forum} then one could use per-site forums by using the full template rendering engine.

The forum rocks… but it needs more flexibility in alot of areas.  I could add quite a list.  I am allready looking forward to the next version. 

Yeah, but you have to admit, they are damn nice forums for being a 1.0 release

I would like to sign up for this as well. This is very much needed. This would help create Forum RSS feeds for individual forums…

Adding support to #1 above.  It’s critical for the RSS feed to be able to exclude “hidden” forums.
