Unable to Upload / Browse Files

Hello,

We have been working with EE for a short time now. The issue we are having is the ability to upload files. I have tried just about everything I can find in this forum including

and various other posts in this forum about this topic.

When I try to upload a file it comes back with this error


The path specified in your image upload preferences is not correct

When I try to browse a directory it comes back with this error


No files available in directory.

I check the Error log in our cluster hosting CP and here is the error continually coming up in the error log. I have replaced our server url and the internal path with *****. There are a ton of these if you try to upload / browse.

Restrict search by site?

I had a look through the docs, but couldn’t find out if the search forms search all MSM sites by default, and if they respect the sites="” parameter?

Odd caching issue with MSM half ready

After some initial problems, I have recently created a new MSM site. I haven’t yet got the front end fully working as I’d wish. I still need to include the correct code in my .htaccess file to redirect requests to a main root subfolder, strip the url and replace it with another, different domain.

However, comma. I have been able to hard code a few essential urls (for the css, mainly) so that my client can proof the new site’s home page with the wrong url. But something odd has been happening to both our default site’s and new site’s home page (entry relative) images. They inexplicably disappear. Everything else is fine: the css, entry page images and category landing page images that display the same entry relative pictures.

I’ve been manually (via ftp) and via the Admin’s CP clearing the cache for the last couple of days. Sometimes the images come back after a clearance, sometimes they don’t until they decide to.

Whatsup? Is it MSM? Is it me? Is it my client constantly switching entry Custom Statuses which have been set up so that she can control which entries appear on the home page?

MySQL 5.0.22 Lockup

Hi,

I’m running EE 1.5.2 Build: 20061128

My web host has just upgraded my SQL server to 5.0.22 (it was running a 4.x version before).

There have been a couple of database lockups, which my web host is suggesting are EE-related. They’ve told me:

“The problem seems to be with requests getting held up because they show ‘waiting for read lock’. Which suggests one of your requests is locking the table they want to read”

I’ve searched the forums, but found nothing related.
So does this ring any bells with anyone?

Custom http POST for search

Hi all,

I’m working on a Ajax-ified version of a searchfield. Now in my case this means that i must do a POST to the site root with the proper attributes and values to get a searchquery to EE.

In javascript i create an XMLHttpRequest and tried to send the following POST command.

I specified to the XMLHttpRequest object that i’m using the POST method. Unfortunately i get the following response back from the XMLHttpRequest object;


Invalid GET Data

Is there anyone that might have some pointers to help me out?

MSM missing comments

I just tried the workaround given in the above thread WITHOUT success. So I have no idea how to get my comments.

Decode member passwords

We are in the process of integrating aMember into an existing EE website.

What’s been discovered is a potential deal breaker: EE stores passwords as SHA1 hash (good) but aMember wants clear text (bad). Security concerns aside, this means existing EE passwords cannot be copied over because aMember desires un-ecoded.

Short of asking members to change their password, is there any way for us to decode the EE passwords for import into aMember?

Sbox error after changing server path for captcha

While trying to get captchas working, I changed the server path to the captcha folder in my system preferences. When I hit “update” I got a server error message. Since then, I cannot load any pages, including the control panel.

Sometimes, I get this message:

Sbox Error
The sbox program encountered an error while processing this request.

exec of /htdocs/www/index.php failed (No such file or directory)

However, index.php is on the server in the “www” folder. It hasn’t been edited.

My ISP just asked me to check the php error log. I enabled error logging, but since I haven’t been able to load any pages, the log remains a 0 KB folder.

Just before the trouble, I had also enabled a couple PHP extensions on the ISP control panel for my site, but I put everything back to be identical to another site I run on the same server and which is still working.

I don’t know what to, and I don’t know much about PHP or server side software. I’m an English major, darn it.

I believe the site is running version 1.6.0 and I’m considering doing the updates to see whether that overwrites whatever is broken, though I’m a little nervous about doing any more before I figure out what happened.

MSM Issue: Comments don’t get copied over? Or do they? Comment count works, comment display doesn’t

Okay, looks like I have another MSM issue on my hands, and this one worries me.

One of my writers told me he could no longer see the comments for his article entries, which seemed odd to me. I went in and checked out comment code, and it looks fine. And yet, on the index page, where we show how many comments an article has, we show comment activity. When you click through, it says no comments shown. I figured it had to be the coding, but that didn’t make sense.

Then I just left a new comment. It shows up. So on a story that had 5 comments previous to mine, only my one post-MSM duplication comment is showing.

Does the MSM NOT bring over comments for weblog entries?! Am I missing something on how to display the older comments along with the new? Obviously it knows there SHOULD be 5 comments there?

Custom Status Issues

Greetings people. I’m having a little trouble with status and thought there might be an obvious solution that I’ve missed.

I’ve added a custom status set for our calendar that includes Public and Internal.

In my weblog entries tag, I thought that if I did not specify the status then it would show any entry with any status, but it seems not.
To get the entries to display, I have to specify status=public (or whatever I want). If I leave the status part out, it only shows entries under open.

Is there any way to say status=all or status is not blank or similar?

I’d rather not have to pipe in every possible status value all the time (status=Public|Internal|Open|Draft|Closed etc.)
