Hello,

i installed ee(frelancer) since 4 days and the lasts days i see the next
message when i loggin in the CP:

I has verified the version than i installed and is the same of link in all
numbers,
¿How to i can do than that disapear (don’t go back to see again, only when
a new version exists really)?

Notify Author on entry Update

This question may be related to a resolved thread.

SolSpace’s Entry Notification isn’t available for EE2 and won’t be for several months. MX Notify Control doesn’t let you update the author of the entry that I can see. Any other options?

Entry status defaults to “Closed” when posting from other member groups

Hi,

Throughout the development phase I used one account in “Super Admins” group. Now I’ve created two other groups with sufficient privileges to create and edit entries. The issue I’m having is that any post created by these users are “Closed” in Status area. How do I get entries to default to “Open” for them.

So far I’ve tried creating a member group based on the “Super Admins” group. Didn’t work.

What setting do I need to change to allow none “Super Admins” members to post live entries?

I’m using EE 2.4.0

Upgrade Errors

I upgraded a site from EE 1.6.8 to EE 2.4.
The EE 1 site had numerous add-ons, a few of course didnt have EE2 equivilents.
Upgrade went smooth except, I am receiving two errors. Only see them when logged in as Super Admin (errors for Super Admin turned on of course), but the site when viewed logged out or other browsers seems to work fine.

The errors are in the attached image.
The first error, I have no idea what would be causing it. I have tried reuploading the Template.php file thinking it was corrupted during upgrade, but that did nothing.

The second error, I have come to find out it has to do with the Generate HTTP Page Headers under Output and Debugging being turned on. I turn it off and it disappears. But in all ee installs I have done this is always on.
Also in Output and Debugging both Enable GZIP Output and Force URL query strings are on as well.

I turn off Force URL query strings, nothing is fixed. But if I turn off Enable GZIP Output, the site becomes viewable but that error is still at top of the site.

What could be causing the issue?
Previous add-on, something the database?

Using status as a conditional

Has this been changed? I’ve tried it using a custom status “Draft” but it doesn’t work. If I change “Draft” to “open” it works. I’m using the correct cap.

Membership Module: Limit by Page Only, or is by Template an Option?

I’m setting up membership permissions. Is it possible to require membership for access to a template embedded in a page?

If so, can I specify a different template appear there on that page?

I’ve been trying to do that, with no success.

...

Or - must access be denied by page, with replacement by another page?

(It is possible to set it up to do the former, but it seems not to work.)

Safecracker javascript errors

Using the latest version of Safecracker, on a blank template, I put this:

And I get many javascript errors, some relating to jquery not loading.

When I view source, I see this line:

However, the script itself does not appear to include jquery, even though “include_jquery=y” is set.

If I manually include jquery:

Upgrading from 2.2.0 to 2.4.0 failed

Hello,

As the title says when trying to upgrade from 2.2.0 to 2.4.0 I got this failure message:

Can’t DROP ‘site_id’; check that column/key exists

I got no idea at all what this means, so any help would be appreciated.

Best way to create thumbnails from images on file system (outside of EE)?

Hello, all. I’m just after a bit of advice on the best way to create thumbnails within ExpressionEngine 2.

I’m developing a property module that takes a third-party feed and populates a database with property entries. Along with these entries, property images are dropped on my server in a ‘feed’ folder in the root of my web server’s directory (and where ExpressionEngine is installed). For example:

/feed
/images
/system
/themes

Does ExpressionEngine have a built-in module or class for manipulating images on the file system? So I can take an image from the file system and generate a thumbnail version that I can use in my templates?

Whats the deal with the IMAGES folder in the 2.4 upgrade?

It seems there is a new folder in the 2.4 update file… IMAGES. But yet the update documentation doesn’t say what to do with that folder.

Please advise.
