UFC Events matches are based on the principles of mixed martial arts. What exactly is mixed martial arts? This popular form of full contact sport is a combination of boxing, wrestling, tae kwon do, judo and jujitsu. Some MMA forms also Muay Thai and Brazilian jujitsu. These separate styles of martial arts are combined into a flow of moves, which can be poetic in motion, but brutal in their results. UFC fighters on a professional level can try up to six days a week, four times a day and follow a very strict dietary regimen.

Is there any way to list your members from the members module through a template, specifically ones in a specific group? Ive seen only one example searching online and it was for EE1x and required you use database calls. Id like to avoid that but im open to doing so if someone does not know of an easier way like using ee tags. Thanks so much!

Hello again,

Just wanted to share a new site launch this week for Flex Admin. This was another collaboration with Brandon at Costa Designs. He handled the design while I was in charge of the code and EE build. Flex Admin’s original site was very image heavy and hard to navigate. They also did not have any CMS in place for managing content. Their primary concern with adding a CMS? Simplicity! Using the Structure add-on, they now have a super easy way to manage and add content!

Have a look and let me know what you think!

Flex-Admin.com

Thanks so much and I look forward to any feedback!

Cheers!

Hello,

This has been a busy week for site launches!

Back in 2008, I developed an EE site for ESRG Tech using EE 1.6.5. It was my second EE project and the time when I fell in love. :-) The site was designed by my friend Brandon at CostaDesigns here in Virginia Beach.

Last month, ESRG wanted to freshen up the front and back end of the site. So, my friend Brandon retooled the design a bit then passed it my way for some EE goodness!

My first challenge was to upgrade to EE 2.4.0. Fortunately, the original build had very few add-ons so I was safe there. The update went smoothly and I skinned the new templates. I have been on a Structure kick lately, so I decided to rebuild the entire content structure on the back end to give the client more flexibility and control.

So the new site uses:
- Structure
- Wygwam
- Matrix
- Playa
- Freeform
- SEO Lite ( which was a conversion from Better Meta, which also rocks!)

Needless to say, the client was thrilled! The new look is now live as a work in progress as they continue writing more content and adding images. But, I am still happy to see them off to a great start!

Would love any and all feedback!

Thanks so much and have a great night!

Hello All!

Just launched a colorful new website look for the amazing team at the National Network of Depression Centers.

Their past site was on Drupal, but making edits and having the ability to add to the site without a designer or developer was becoming somewhat difficult. After a little debate on whether to use WordPress or EE, they decided that EE was the best choice! Why is that? Well, for starters, ease of use was their major concern. Next was security.

After their first training session of the back end, they were in love and knew they made the right choice!

So, what’s under the hood?
 Wygwam
 Matrix
 Structure
 SEO Lite
 Freeform
 Playa

The new site just went live yesterday, so have a look and let me know what you think!

www.NNDC.org

Thanks and have a great night!

Hi all,

Just a quick bit of background. I work for the UK Border Agency, as a Detector Dog Handler (Drugs sniffer dogs), and for the past few years I’ve wanted to create a website that will allow dog owners to upload and share places to walk.
I find myself regularly traveling away from home as part of my job, and when I do, I thought it would be good to have somewhere to look up local walks/areas.
So the idea of Walkiees was born!

Now Ive been an avid internet users for many years, and I attempted a few times to try and create this type of site using CMS/Blog software such as Wordpress, but never really accomplished anything, and I was always trying to do it with free plugins/themes.

At the start of 2012, I decided it was time to go for it. I spent a month building my design in Photoshop (I program I am quite familiar with) and I sent it off to p2H (psd2html.com) who (like there names suggests) sliced it up into a nice set of HTML/CSS/JS files.

A buddy of mine, who is a web designer, said that they had recently switched all their site builds to EE, and that I should look into it.

I started consuming as much tutorials, podcasts and information as I could. I got the files back from p2h on the 20th of February, bought and installed EE, and had a go. I’ve never touched EE before, and I had VERY limited knowledge of HTML/CSS, but with the great support that I received here, Solspace, gwcode, and many many more support forums, I finally managed to get the site ready for its initial launch.

So yesterday was the day. It was moved off the development server and onto the main domain and…

I’m very proud and pleased to introduce Walkiees!

Feel free to have a look around, sign up, add a walk, get involved!

I doubt very much that I have put the site together in the most efficient way, and its somewhat simplistic at the moment, but I think I have a good base to keep working and developing on.

So what did I use?

As i have always enjoyed reading what add-ons others use I’ll list mine here.

Solspace User - for templating my member areas
Solspace Favourites - for the adding removing of favs and bookmarks. (big thumbs up to Solspace’s Nic for help in the Ajaxifying of this!)
Solspace Ratings - To rate my walks
MX Google Maps - to locate the walk in the submission form and display it on a walk page.
NAVee - Main nav
Matrix - holds my photo galleries for each walk
SEO Lite - Just started using for better SEO keywords/descriptions
AB Pagination - customised pagination
Accessible Captcha - stopped my spammers!
Twomile Login Redirect - Gives better control over my redirects
Custom System Messages - brought everything into my templates!
Draggable - makes sorting easier
CP Analytics Settings - keep an eye on things

There might be a few more but these are the main ones.

If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts, criticism, or anything, I’ll be glad to hear it!
Hope you enjoy!
