Training now, Wish You Were Here
Hey All—
As I’m writing this I’m sitting at the CityFlats hotel, in the back row of the Ruby on Rails Session being put on by CollectiveIdea.
No - I’m not jumping ship to Ruby on Rails. I wanted to get a sense for how the room felt and worked with people in it, so I came down for the afternoon. We’re just coming off from the afternoon break that featured fresh cookies of the non-browser variety. I missed the chocolate chip ones though…
Anyway - as of today there are 12 students booked for the EE class including the two scholarship winners. That leaves roughly 8 open seats yet - so if you’re thinking of registering there is still time.
With that many bodies in the room I felt like having another EE guru to help out would be a good idea, so dangled the idea of some free food in front of AJ Penninga of PrettySquares and he went for it. You might know AJ as AJP in the forums. AJ’s a good resource as he’s done a fair amount of more advanced things with EE than I have - so having him sit in on the class should be a great help to both myself and the students.
If you’ve already registered for the class I’ll be in contact with you in the next couple of days - both to give you some resources for getting setup to run EE locally, make sure you’re setup with a personal license of EE, and have any necessary files for the class.
We’ve had some awesome weather here the last week or so—here’s hoping it holds for the EE class!
