ExpressionEngine 2.2 is on Schedule
Many of you wanted us to let you know if we are still on target to release ExpressionEngine 2.2 on June 22nd. The answer is yes. We will be releasing 2.2 this Wednesday.
As a teaser, ExpressionEngine 2.2 has a completely rewritten File Manager. The File Manager now has more functionality as part of that rewrite. The dev team continued efforts to tune ExpressionEngine and improve performance. Additionally, the dev team has added new Config Overrides that were requested and continued integrating SafeCracker further into the system. The login routine was also updated to salt and rehash all passwords with a SHA-2 hash function if available, which is part of our continuing efforts to keep ExpressionEngine secure.
The dev team also reports that there are over 60 bug fixes included in 2.2.
So, mark it on your calendars: ExpressionEngine 2.2 comes out this Wednesday, June 22.
