Be Concise, An Example

You stump us regularly on the forums. Certain members of EllisLab will never admit this, but it is true. At least it is true enough that we have private staff forums so we can discuss any problematic threads before responding with the goal of provding the best possible information. Since we lead busy lives with to-dos designed to inspire cardiac arrest, conciseness is a virtue.

Here’s an example where Lisa is posting for clarification on EE’s use of the BCC and CC email fields. Notice how Paul has elevated conciseness from a word skill into high art (with a little help from Derek Allard).

Lisa: I should have just asked in the first place, but the answer seemed so clear and easy. Anyhooo….

Allard: Yup, to protect the recipient, not the sender would be my vote.  I’ll ask Paul to drop in and verify, if only for personal curiosity.

Paul: Bleah…

Allard: translated… yeah, its all about protecting identity. Thanks for dropping in Paul.

Paul: Word.

Leslie: I should blog this thread. Hilarious.

Allard: Proper.
