ExpressionEngine 2.3 Update, Improved Release Schedule

When I took over as CEO, two of my highest priorities were to change our internal development process so we could have a predictable release schedule and to improve the stability of our releases. We’ve seen definite improvement in both those areas this year, especially if you compare 2.1.x to 2.2.x. What follows is a summary of what we’ve learned so far and how we’re using that to improve.

At this point in time, we can do things internally as a company that we’ve never been successful...

EE 2.0 Beta, 30 days in

Happy New Years!

I’m writing this update from an undisclosed warm weather location where Rick Ellis, Derek Jones, and I are convening to plan out the next year. Yes, its our annual World Domination Summit. There is energy and excitement in the air (along with the promise of good Brazilian BBQ). We think 2010 is going to be special, but let’s start by reviewing what’s happened in the last 30 days.

Let’s start this update by welcoming Jamie Rumbelow to the EllisLab Team. If you spend...

The Last Two EE Mug Winners

Today we officially bring the private beta to a close by giving away the promised EE Mug to the best tester from Team Beta.

You Spoke, We Listened: Important Release Updates

We’ve been listening closely to the feedback regarding EE 2.0’s release plans and we’re going to implement a few important changes to better reflect the needs of the Community and what we want to accomplish on 12/1.

The most important change is a vocab one. On 12/1 we will be releasing the ExpressionEngine 2.0 Public Beta (PB). We previously referred to it as a Release Candidate. We think calling it a Public Beta will help people better evaluate whether they should use EE 2.0 PB or EE...
