The menu works with the default “hover” behaviour.
I looked into adding a “click” version but that requires adding loads of CSS styles, and these are different for each theme etc. etc. Maybe someday…
Let me know if you find anything odd or if you have suggestions.
EDIT 20090718: updated to v.1.1
This version adds FT-E compatibility.
EDIT 20090721: changed download link back to to v.1.0
Thanks, cocoaholic! Very nice extension; I will certaily use it.
I have doubts that it really correct that
“click” version [...] requires adding loads of CSS styles, and these are different for each theme etc. etc.
I did observe that when you set “click” in CP Home > Admin > System Preferences > Control Panel Settings and click on “Edit” tab, Edit menu is displayed for a while but then Edit page is loaded. So it seems that for “click” version you need only to cancel Edit page load.
Hey Cocoaholic - very cool extension. I’ll have to try it
Hey I was wondering if I could ask a favor? Could you bump up the priority level of your extension so I can run one after it? I’ve got an extension to remove weblogs from the publish tab (Publisher’s Clearinghouse) that modifies $SESS->userdata[‘assigned_weblogs’] and if these are used together then I’m messing up your extension because I’m running before it. Since you’re at lowest priority I can’t get any lower
Ah yes, priority settings… I tend to set them to lowest priority by default, no need to be first
I know the priority is important when multiple extensions use the same hook, but it just isn’t possible to prevent ‘clashes’ with other developers’ extensions. Maybe the priority should be a default user setting so peeps can change the priority on the fly if needed?
I have bumped the priority of this extension to 8, hopefully this won’t clash with other extensions out there.
Hum. Can’t seem to get this to work. I tried disabling all of my 250+ extensions (okay not really that much but alot). Checked in Firefox, Safari and I even took the time to boot XP in VMWare. No dice.
