Why not use the Simple Commerce Module in EE? I know that it is only as the name suggests simple but I am currently developing a site that is going to have in the end hundreds of thousands of downloads on it and it will all be powered by the Simple Commerce Module.

Just a thought though.

Best wishes,

Mark

The module is 95% ready to release. The main stumbling block I have now is how to sell it online :(

e-junkie is also supposed to be a good solution, and has built in affiliate scheme too. i’ve bought a few things through it and its a good user-experience.

I think e-junkie looks pretty cool, but I don’t know anything about it from the seller’s side.

I do wish you would figure out how you’re going to sell this online, so I can buy the thing!

E-Junkie sound nice .... I must have been un-notified form this thread because I didn’t get those updates. :(

So LG POLLS IS READY FOR RELEASE

I have a commercial version ready for anyone who wishes to purchase it. Just send me a PM and I will deal with these personally until I can get a solution up and running on my site.

Thanks for all your support so far

Sounds interesting. I have a question. When someone wants to vote, he must be a registered member. Or can I decide, that every surfer has the possibility to vote without registering before?

There are a couple of options for checking who can and cannot vote.

Each poll has the option to:

- Allow users to vote more than once or restrict them to one vote
- Only allow members or allow anyone
- Check for duplicate votes by IP, cookie or member_id (for those polls where only registered users can vote)

There is also black/whitelist checking and a check for banned users.

Hope that clears it up for you

Quick question: What price are you charging? Need to know if it’s an impulse buy or if I’ll have to wait a bit.

Leevi,
I went to the link you just posted and created an account.  I couldn’t find any way to purchase the module or download the files.  Is it available yet or not?

Hi Phil,

Once you have activated your account (email should have been sent once you registered) visit the page of the addon you wish to purchase. There should be a buy now button.

Once you have bought and purchased the addon it will appear in your member section.

Cheers Leevi

Not sure if I’m allowed to post this kinda stuff in the forums… I’m sure I’ll find out very soon but…..

As you may or may not know my beloved Newcastle Jets FC just won the national league so to celebrate…

I have reduced the price of LG Polls to $39.95 for the next couple of days until the beers wear off.

Go you Jets!

See you in the Asian Champions League!

Just a quick update for all those who purchased LG Polls. The addon has been updated to 1.0.4 which fixes a small issue when previewing polls from the publish form.

Cheers Leevi

I like this module a lot and have already implemented it. We used to use EEPolls, which did have one feature that I wish LG Polls could add.

In EEPolls, polls could be presented so that two buttons appeared, one for submitting a vote, the other for viewing the results before voting. A reader of our site initially would see the poll question, the possible answers and two buttons. If they chose not to vote, by clicking on “View” they could still see the results.

LG Polls has the same functionality, but—if I’m understanding the documentation correctly—the only way to accomplish this is to display the poll question, the possible answers and the “Submit” button along with the poll answers repeated with their respective results. In other words, the reader sees the answers twice, which is redundant.

Would it possible to include an “either-or” function in LG Polls so that someone who has not voted has the choice of either voting or viewing the current results, but not both at the same time?
