I use the old Dreamweaver 8. When working with a large amount of files, and staying organized I do not understand how people work with a regular FTP client. The methods I see everyday follow this pattern.
1. Find the file.
2. Download the file to folder.
3. Edit the file.
4. Save the file.
5. Make sure you’re not overwriting an existing file, like another index.php in the wrong directory
6. Right click or for Mac ctrl click and select upload. I’ve seen many still drag a file to the remote server. Such a hassle and time waster. An easy way to overwrite an existing file.
My Dreamweaver 8 keeps everything in Sync locally and remotely, and uploading is one simple quick key and Dreamweaver knows where the file belongs.
Haven’t had any issues with Dreamweaver 8 on a Mac. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this was the last version before Adobe bought Macromedia.
