I’m happy to announce that I’ve launched version 1.0 of Taggable, my folksonomy engine for ExpressionEngine 2.0.1! Taggable is an easy-to use, powerful folksonomy engine designed exclusively for ExpressionEngine 2.0. It works with any channel entry, so you can add tags to your blog, news archive, pages, photo gallery - anything that’s powered by a channel! It features a rich set of template tags that let you list, filter, and display tags and their entries with no code necessary.

Features
* A great user interface for browsing and displaying tags
* Tight integration with the publish form
* Autosuggest powered by Alchemy
* A set of powerful template tags
* Loads of developer hooks for additional functionality

More Info?
Head over to http://gettaggable.com for more information about Taggable, to access the support forums and purchase Taggable.

Thanks!

Looks good.

Just a quick question. I use Solspace’s Tag in a EE1.6 site. Am looking at setting up a site or two using EE2.0.

What does your module offer that Solspace doesn’t? Or if they do the same thing, in what ways are they different (if there are any).

Thanks,
Euan

Hey Euan,

Thanks for showing interest. At the moment, there isn’t many differences in terms of functionality apart from one glaring fact; Taggable runs on EE2! Taggable also features a nicer interface (in my opinion), semantic auto-suggest powered by Alchemy and a big set of developer hooks if you fancy customising it yourself.

I’ll be continually developing, supporting and adding new features to Taggable as time goes on, so do keep an eye on it.

I hope that’s answered your questions,

Jamie

Great work Jamie! I’m still considering buying your add-on. Is there anywhere I can see full screenshots of this? I’m very picky on how things look in the publish page (I need to make sure regular writers will find it easy to use, cause if they get confused.. it all goes to hell xD ).

Hey Carlo,

Not right now, no, but I’m updating the documentation over the weekend so I’ll be sure to put some bigger screenshots up there. Thanks for showing interest!

Dear Jamie,

I’m also interested in checking out this module. I’m currently tinkering around with Tagger Lite and like what I see. I’m also a previous user of Tag from Solspace, as another had mentioned.

I like the new additions you brought in with 1.1, but the UI is very important to me as well — hopefully you’ll have some screenshots up so we can glam over how Taggable looks in comparison (hopefully in unison, rather) to the over elements in the Publish page.

Carlo and Danny,

Thanks for the good words on Taggable - any feedback is always appreciated, and as it’s a commercial module, I’ll always provide first-class support and upgrades. I’ve taken a few “rough” pictures of Taggable on my local development copy so you can see what it looks like; I’m redesigning and will be relaunching the site in a month or so so I’ll make sure I include some pictures there.

Anyway, here are the images:

Thanks, and my best,

Jamie

Jamie,

I have a website where there is a photo portfolio and a blog. I would like to have a group of tags that are specific to the photos and a group of tags that are specifics to blog entries. Can Taggable support two different groups of tags or is there only one system-wide group of tags?

Thanks!
