Anyone else in the Netherlands want to form a EE network and meet occasionally, maybe once a month?

I had a great time at the EE event in Leiden a few months back, sharing tips and business connections, and it’s a shame that there’s no EE community (or at least any I’ve found) to continue this with.

Anyone else willing to give it a try?

Hi Jim,

We did have a meeting before organized by Low, which was really a nice meeting. I’m sure there’s enough people interested to join a get-together. Last meeting was attended by
Low
Cocoaholic
goeminnek
Ronny
Noregt
Robert Eerhart
pctje
Kerim Satirli
Vinnyio

See the thread here

Hah! Yep - I need better glasses. Missed that on my iPhone in SquintyVision. I’ll make a note on the old thread about this one - being that this new section is where user groups are now supposed to be managed, it makes more sense to move the thread here.

Anyone interested in getting together this year, even this month?
The Pakhuis sounded good, and the 20th is a Sunday…

I think it’s a very good idea to regroup the Dutch and (perhaps) Belgium EE people. I’m in! My suggestion would be begin of February. Location: Amsterdam, Utrecht or Rotterdam. I can help organizing it, if needed.

Looks like this might work! Let’s figure this out while we’re all focused:

1) Does any have a problem with Utrecht instead of Amsterdam?  Pretty much every main train station has an intercity there, not like Amsterdam - and as an added benefit, the Starbucks is bigger there too.

I can go walkabout and see what’s available - but it’s good to know beforehand if it’s easier to meet:

b) During the week in the evenings, say 19:30 -20h?

  Or..

iii) During the weekend, say a Sunday afternoon?

Utrecht is fine by me, it is actually a tad closer than A’dam.

Evenings during the week or a Sunday afternoon, I do not really mind either.

I can’t remember the details of the meeting at the Pakhuis, but i know i like food and beer even more than Starbucks Coffee. So a group dinner in a good restaurant would be great. I prefer in the evenings, starting at 18.00 with beer.

If it were remotely possible…  wink

(Damn! He was faster than me!)

I’ll check around a bit and see what I can find - there’s a few nice places I know, but I’ve not been in Utrecht for few years now.

If anyone else wants to chime in on whether they’d come, please do!

Sure you can, Mike! But don’t be Dutch and pay your part of the bill, okay? wink

Jim, http://www.cafe-olivier.be/ this is a great place where you can enjoy lots of good beer and food. It’s just outside “Hoog Caterijne”. Last get-together was on a Friday and started around 16:30

Hey Robert. Yup - I know the venue. I know of it and have heard good things. We can try that one first, and the next time we meet I know the owners of an irish pub farther in, behind the post office, also very good.

Anyway, Cafe Oliver it is, and it seems the slight preference is during the evenings.

How does Friday 5 Feb at 18:00 (6pm for Mike) work for everyone?
