Comment Moderation Nag is an ExpressionEngine extension which displays a prominent, ubiquitous banner to all control panel users with moderation privileges, reminding them to deal with pending comments. If there are no pending comments, no banner is shown.

Why the need for this extension? Because the tiny little “Comments Awaiting Validation” link shown at the bottom of the Site Statistics panel on the CP home page is basically invisible to most users, leaving them (well, many of my clients anyway) with often hundreds of pending spam comments, further decreasing the possibility they will ever approve the few legitimate comments that are likely to be trapped in amongst them. I’m hopeful this will fix that!

Might just be me but I can’t get this showing up at all. Not sure exactly what triggers it though? I tried just adding some comments to an entry but didn’t see anything. I then tried setting comment moderation on and again placed some more comments but again still no message bar. Am I doing something wrong somewhere?

Mark - on your CP home page, do you see the built-in “Comments Awaiting Validation” link (at the bottom of the Site Statistics)? If that’s there, but the nag notification from the extension is not, then something is amiss.

Ignore me All working fine.

I had gone and placed the comments in whilst logged in as a Super Admin and of course even though I have comment moderation turned on that doesn’t apply to Super Admins now does it?!!!

Works great. Thanks for a neat little add-on there.

One thing I did notice (very small and nit-picky so please don’t lose any sleep over it ) although it’s more a language thing than anything else is that when there’s only 1 comment awaiting approval then it says :

“1 comments require moderation”

although perhaps that should be :

“1 comment requires moderation”

when you only have 1 comment and then swap around the s when multiple comments. As mentioned above though a really really small thing though.
