Many of you may have had one eye peeled for this eventual and long-time-coming launch, and it’s finally here. As the maiden ship in our armada, SmoothFunction launches BOOMERANG, Email Marketing and full reporting, completely integrated in ExpressionEngine. Check out the site, see the screenshots, ask questions… Go nuts.
Just a highlight, you can:
* Create and send full HTML, text, and multi-type emails, taking advantage of the optional WYSIWYG editor if desired.
* Create, save and reuse email templates.
* See reports with up to the second stats and graphs on your email campaigns, including:
- Opens and Open Rates
- Unopens and Unopened Rates
- Clicks and Click Rate
- Click Rates on Opens
- Opens Over Time
- Unsubscribes
* Schedule your emails for future dates and times
* Integrates with ExpressionEngine’s existing Mailing List module, allowing you to start emailing right away without the need to import your subscribers.
* View and optionally resend any or all past emails.
All support questions can begin here too. I’m sure there will some.
I’ll make sure it’s highlighted for all to see. Boomerang actually sits on top of the Mailing List module to manage your contacts, so anything Mailing has, Boomerang does too.
Will this support automatic archiving of email templates somewhere on the site? So for those “can’t view the email” links or just a way for visitors to see what’s been sent out?

Not yet, but it’s definitely slated for a soon release. 1.1 should tie in {exp:weblog:entries} tags into the templates for fully dynamic emails
Jack, is it in the plans to be able to add more than just email addresses into lists?
It’s already in the works! We’ve got a sidekick module in near-release that will tie in a full CONTACT management system, so you can personalize your emails, and do all sorts of wizardry off contact forms and the module’s profile fields.
That file was not in the download package, FYI. Unless I’m missing something.
Double-check. The zip contains two parent folders—images/ and system/. It should be in there.
Sorry to immediately inundate you with crap. I think you mentioned this in while in beta. I’m on a MT DV and under settings it’s telling me Safe Mode is on but my PHP Info is saying it’s off for Local Value and on for Master Value. Have you encountered this?

Haven’t encountered it, no. You might not have anything to worry about, as things CAN function fine while in Safe Mode. It’s for the email scheduling and cron job. As long as that cron job can be set and accessed, you’re fine.
Oh man some functionality I have always wanted. If you can release the 1.1 version with weblog:entries functionality you will have a customer many times over im me and my clients. I am currently rendering pages and pasting them into some other software to achieve something I could automate in boomerang.
