I’m interested to know if anyone thinks it might be possible to use the ‘comment_entries_tagdata’ hook to deploy an extension that makes it possible to display closed comments (or certain parts of a closed comment) inline with open comments?

Specifically I’m looking to show that a comment existed (in it’s original location in a comment thread) but indicate why it has been removed.

For example: “Comment by ‘Nathan Pitman’ removed because of violation of terms of use.”

Any thoughts on how to achieve this greatly appreciated, I’m still a bit of a newb with extensions and the use of the hooks…

A shameless bump for this - the ability to even show a simple ‘This comment was removed for TOS violations’ message would be great!

While I could fake that sort of function by editing the comment, I’d rather not destroy the info, just hide it away in the db.
